Anzac Day in Philadelphia 2012

The Twenty Fifth of April was the day in 1915 when the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps landed on the beaches at Gallipoli. Ever since, the twenty fifth of April has been our National Day of Remembrance.

We will celebrate the 97th Anniversary with a luncheon at the Union League on Broad Street, Philadelphia.

The Remembrance will be led by Dr. Bradley Bleefeld, who, several years ago, was a speaker at The Dawn Service in King’s Park, Perth, Western Australia.

Dr. Philip Minter will give a short Power Point presentation on the history of the Gallipoli Campaign. Squadron Leader Bronwen Fauser, RAAF will represent the Australian Defense Forces.

Date: Saturday April 28, 2012. Time: 12 Noon.
Cost: $45.00/person
Location: Union League 140 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia – Gather in the Lincoln Memorial Room – Note Business dress or Uniform required.

Recognition of the Fallen
Led by Squadron Leader Bronwen Fauser, RAAF. Names of Australian service personnel killed in action during the last year will be read, followed by Binyon’s Poem

They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old,
