Exciting News from the American National Rugby League

With a spot in the 2013 World Cup up for grabs, Philadelphia (though technically it’s in New Jersey) will be hosting the Atlantic qualifier between Jamaica, South Africa and the United States on October 15th – 23rd. The games will take place at Campbell’s Field in Camden (yep home of the River Sharks and a hop, skip and jump…or even a swim, from Philly) on Saturday October 15, Wednesday October 19 and Sunday October 23rd.

The teams will have 2 games each and be vying for top points ((2 points for win, 1 point for a tie, 0 for a loss; team with best record wins the tournament & qualifies for 2013 Rugby League World Cup in England). Tickets are now available. You can also follow them on twitter @RugbyWCQ

Let’s see if we can get some Aussies in Philly together for some tailgating before the game.

“We are excited to be able to host the Atlantic qualifier here in Philadelphia in front of some the most passionate sports fans in the country,” said David Niu, President & Founder of the AMNRL. “The matches will feature many of the game’s elite players and will give fans here in the U.S. some great rugby league action.”
